Charity fundraising
Each year members vote for a charity for the group to raise money for. For 2026, this is Young lives V's Cancer. It is the only charity in the UK with specialist social workers who support children & young people with cancer and their families.
They offer advice, resources and guidance to help make informed decisions about their care. This can be translating medical jargon to securing financial support or simply being there to listen and help. On average a family with a child facing cancer can spend £700 a month just on travel costs, hospital parking, & even accommodation or food costs if the treatment has to take place away from their home town. This is why Young Lives V's Cancer also offer 10 home from home accommodations near to local specialist centres. These offer free accommodation for families to help ease the burden of extra travel, accommodation & food costs while they are away from home. Young Lives V's Cancer ensures that no child or young person faces cancer alone.
