The Santa Dash & Dwadle is a fun-filled festive event organised by our running club. Whether you fancy running, jogging or taking a leisurely festive stroll, this event is all about getting together, spreading Christmas cheer and enjoying an active morning with friends, family and fellow runners.

 The Santa Dash & Dwadle will take place on Sunday 6th December 2026. Please check the event information for the confirmed start time and registration details.


The event will start and finish at 10.30 from The Green at the Centre of Broughton Astley. Just outside the George and Dragon and Conservative Club. Full directions, parking information and the meeting point will be provided ahead of the event.

What is the difference between the Santa Dash and the Dwadle?
The Santa Dash is aimed at those who would like to run or jog the route, while the Dwadle is a more relaxed option for anyone who prefers to walk, chat and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Both are about having fun and taking part at your own pace.

Not at all! Our Santa Dash & Dwadle is open to everyone, whether you are an experienced runner, a complete beginner or simply looking for a fun festive activity.

Absolutely not. You can run, jog, walk or take a mixture of all three. The event is designed to be enjoyable and inclusive, so go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

The event will has two distances a 3K or a 5K. There will be a point mid way where you can choose to carry on for 5K or finish at 3K Please see the event details for the confirmed route and any information about the Santa Dash and Dwadle distances.

Your ticket entry will get you a T-Shirt and Santa hat as standard. But if you would prefer to wear Christmas jumpers, festive fancy dress and tinsel are all encouraged! Dressing up is optional, but the more festive the better. Please make sure your outfit is safe and comfortable for running or walking.

Children are welcome to take part, any children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult and the adult must stay within an arms distance. Children of all ages must have parental permission. Please check the registration information before booking.

Unfortunately no dogs are permitted to take part due to Health and Safety.

Yes! The event is designed to be welcoming and enjoyable for all abilities. Whether you are taking your first steps into running or simply want to enjoy a festive walk, you are very welcome.

You can register through the Evententry website. Please complete your registration before the closing date to secure your place.

The entry fee is £15 for adults or children over the age of 15. Children aged between 5 and 15, will cost £10. Children under 5 will be free. This entry free will get you an event T-shirt, Santa Hat and Medal.

Any profit made from the race will be donated straight to our club charity this year which is called Young Lives VS cancer. A charity that supports children, young people and their families diagnosed with cancer.

Yes! Information on how to collect your hats and T-shirts before the event will be published on this website and emailed out to you! Medals will be awarded at the end of the run.

Please wear comfortable running or walking clothes and suitable footwear. As the event takes place in December, warm layers and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.

The event will generally go ahead in typical winter weather. However, if conditions become unsafe, the organisers may need to amend, postpone or cancel the event. Any changes will be communicated through our website and social media channels.

Parking is available at the White Horse Pub, Broughton Astley COOP, Frolesworth Road Park and other places in the village. Please allow plenty of time to park and make your way to start line. Where possible, we encourage participants to car share or if you live locally why not walk.

We are planning to have tea and coffee available to purchase afterwards. Local businesses will also be open in the village.
