Mental Health

Club mantra - Running Together, Talking Together

At Squirrels, we run for miles, but we stay for each other. We believe that mental health is just like physical health—everyone has it, it needs regular training. We don't see a divide between the two, but we know that together, we can make a real difference. Our club is the space where your conversation matters more than your pace.

A Message from Your Mental Health Champion

As your Mental Health Champion, my goal is simple: no Squirrel should ever have to run alone unless they want to. Whether I'm organizing our #RunAndTalk events or just catching up at the finish line, I'm here to offer a confidential listening ear and help point you toward professional support if things feel heavy. I'm not a doctor; I'm a clubmate who cares.

Why I do this

To be open with you all, I've navigated my own mental health challenges for a long time. Then a few years ago I realised I was in a constant spiral of overload and my mental health was suffering, The balance of work parenthood and the recent pandemic had got me in a rut, I had to be honest with myself— I needed something that was just for me and I needed a bit of professional help.

The support and community I found right here at Squirrels changed everything for me, and it inspired me to give back. If our club can make even one person feel a little lighter after a run, then we've succeeded.

Please remember: you are never alone—you're part of the crew.
