Team Captains

Our runners have taken part in the first 7 LRRL league races, and with four left the vet women's team (that means over 40) sits in top position in the third division. The top two teams get promoted at the end of the season.

You can see the league table in these two pictures. We get a number of points for each race depending on how well our first 3 finishers do compared to the other clubs. At four of the races we scored top points! Over the course of the season, our best 8 of the 11 races count, so we are in a very strong position.

Over the races so far, it's been Julie Hill, Lyndsay Jordan, Jean Dalby, Lynne Rowe, Nicola Traynor, Laura Brookhouse, Julie Kilby, Joanna Kirby and Lynette Jones all taking turns in featuring in our top 3 performers.

In the main women's' competition (that includes all regardless of age) we're in 4th place and have an outside chance of finishing in the top 2. In this category, Olivia May has been putting in some great performances.

On the men's' side, it's the first 4 finishers that score for the team. Whilst a few men have been running, it's been less consistent than the women's team and often we don't have a full team which limits the score. But Tom Robotham, Luke Czerpak, Matthew Brookhouse, Tim Windram and Martyn Lewin have all taken part.

There are 4 races left, the next being Steve Morris 5 at the end of the month, which is sold out. After that the Joy Cann 5 will take place in early August, and entries will open in early July. Why not give it a go?
